We’re happy to have you with us. To ensure a safe, clean and enjoyable stay for everyone, please review and follow helpful tips and guidelines bellow.
Parking:
Parking is available next to or behind your cabin on the hard pavement. Please keep off the grass—parking on grass is not allowed.
Slippery Wooden Pathway:
Please be cautious, as the wooden pathways at the campsite and to your cabin door can get slippery during rainy and winter seasons. Watch your step!
Terrace Light & Electrical Plug:
The light switch for the terrace is located outside the cabin, to the right of the window. There is also an electrical plug below the light switch for your convenience.
Electric or Hybrid Cars:
Please note, charging of any type of car is not allowed at the cabin. Kindly inform reception if you need to charge your vehicle. A car charging station is available between Cabin 0 and the Reception building in the parking lot. If you wish to charge your car, please inform reception first to ensure availability and correct usage.
Door Lock & Access:
To access your cabin, use the pin code or key card provided. You’ll hear a beep when the door is unlocked. To open the door, simply push the handle down.
Avoid leaving the door open when it’s windy outside, as this can cause damage.
Important: The door locks automatically. You will not be able to lock it with the key card. Please make sure to have a pin code or a key card on you when leaving the cabin, as it may automatically lock.
Heating (if needed):
The thermostat above the door controls the cabin’s heating. There are two buttons below the screen:
Left Button: Turns the thermostat on or off.
Right Round Button: Adjusts the temperature. It ranges from 1 to 10, with 10 being the highest.
Gently lift the button up to increase the temperature and down to decrease it.
When the desired temperature appears on the screen, gently push the button to set it.
You will find the same thermostat for heating the bathroom floor, located below the bathroom light switch.
Kitchen Use – Induction Stoves
Induction Stoves: Induction stoves heat up very quickly. Start with a lower temperature (around 4) and gradually increase it as needed. Avoid setting it to the highest (8-9) to prevent burning your food and triggering the smoke detectors. If a smoke detector is activated, please do not attempt to remove it from the ceiling. Instead, open doors and windows to ventilate the area.
Compatible Cookware: Use only pots and pans suitable for induction cooking. Non-compatible cookware will cause the stove to shut down for safety reasons.
In Case of Malfunction: If the stove stops working, it may have activated its safety shutdown. Please reset it by pressing the reset button located above the stove, under the suction hood.
In Case of Fire:
Stay Calm and Act Quickly.
Use the fire extinguisher located inside the kitchen, in the corner to the right of the sink, next to foldable chairs.
Immediately inform reception. If reception is closed, call the fire department at 110.
If it is safe to do so, turn off the induction stove and evacuate the area.
If you notice anything that is broken, missing, or not working properly, please inform our staff or visit the reception immediately. All kitchen equipment and utensils are provided for the convenience of our guests. Before leaving, please ensure all appliances including the stove, hood, heat thermostat, and lights are turned off. Wash, dry, and return dishes to their original places. Please clean up after yourself and use only what you need, so others can also enjoy a tidy and well-stocked kitchen.
Recycling
We encourage everyone to recycle and help us maintain an eco-friendly campground!
Main Recycling Area: Located right to the shared bathroom door, between cabin 1 and the shed (attached to the main building).
Kitchen Recycling: Please place recyclable items in the appropriate bins located under the sink in the kitchen.
For larger items that cannot fit in the kitchen bins, or to help ease the load on our staff, please take them to the main recycling area.
Dining Table:
For your convenience, the dining table is foldable to create more space in the living area.
When adjusting to the upright position, make sure the table is securely closed with the hook.
When lowering back to the table position, ensure the leg is straight. Failing to set it straight could cause the leg to break if weight is placed on the table.
Foldable Chairs:
Extra foldable chairs can be found in the kitchen next to the wall. You are welcome to take them outside if needed. Just please ensure they are not left out or used when it’s raining, as they are not suited for damp conditions.
Cleaning:
The cabin should be kept clean during and after your stay, and left in the same clean condition as it was found. Cleaning supplies are located below the sink. If you need additional cleaning supplies, we are happy to provide it.
However, if you prefer not to clean the cabin yourself, you can order cleaning service for an additional charge. Please note, if the cabin is found untidy, a cleaning fee may be charged.
Birds Nesting in Summer:
During the summer, many birds nest, hatch, and raise their young here. Please be mindful and avoid disturbing their surroundings. Keep dogs on a leash and away from these areas, and walk carefully to ensure the birds remain undisturbed.
If you see birds flying close to you or overhead while making noise, it’s a sign that a nest or chicks are nearby. This is their way of alerting you to stay aware and keep a safe distance.
Thank you for following these tips! If you need any assistance, don’t hesitate to reach out. Enjoy your stay!
With warm welcome,
Base Camp Hamarøy Team
